Don’t Look Back is a something that my husband said to me when I was struggling to move forward after suddenly and unexpectedly losing my mum; my world was turned upside down. As I said at the time, I couldn’t move any which way, let alone forwards. He took my hand and despite our shared grief, he reminded me that we were in this life’s journey together, that together we would look after one another, that we wouldn’t look backwards, we’d walk forwards no matter what life threw our way, hand in hand. We all have occasions in life where we, or our friends and family need to be reminded to focus on our future rather than our past; it’s easier said than done sometimes. This is a digital artwork using a photograph of a dusty black chalkboard, taken when I was teaching. This piece is a part of my ‘Words To Live By’ artwork collection. I created ‘Words To Live By’ in order to feature quotes that have resonated with me through travels in my own life’s journey. Just like my image-based artwork, (where I work only from my own sketches/photos of something I’ve seen on my wanderings), the Words To Live By collection includes only quotes that have been a key part of my own personal or business journey.

These magnets are super slim and very lightweight so whilst they won’t hold up tatty shopping lists and take away menus, they do make great miniature pieces of artwork for your fridge and, since they have an extremely low profile, they're not easily knocked off if someone brushes past the fridge/filing cabinet. Inspired from what I see in my garden, on my field work, travels and from life experiences, I work only from photographs that I have taken or sketches that I have made in the field.

Each flexible art magnet is printed in the UK by an FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified printing company on board with a rubber-free magnetic MagneCote coating, which is biodegradable. Each magnet is directly digitally printed, thereby avoiding the more traditional use of printing plates or photo chemicals. Flexible magnets ordered on this website will be supplied ‘naked’ without each magnet being enclosed in an individual protective sleeve, but any magnets in an order will be packed in a recyclable (PP5) polypropylene protective outer as a ‘pack’ to avoid them getting marked or wet in transit in the typical British weather that we enjoy or marking any other products in your order. This packaging will be kept to a minimum. Flexible magnets are shipped in a board backed envelope or postal box as appropriate and are not gift packaged.
