This sculpted paper cut and 3D low relief unicorn was actually inspired by a special Chinese themed commission series, which included a Chinese horse. I was repeatedly asked if I could make the horse into a unicorn with a similar theme… Given that the mythological origin of unicorns is Asia and based on a horse, I adapted my Chinese horse and added a single, large, pointed, spiralling horn projecting from its head, et voila, a unicorn running under boughs of Sakura blossom!

Inspired from what I see on my field work, travels and experiences, I work only from photographs that I have taken or sketches that I have made in the field. BUT, I bet you're wondering where I spotted this unicorn?! It was originally a horse cantering under the blossoms, but after I had so many requests if I could add a paper cut horn and make this handsome fella into a unicorn, I did. This coaster will withstand the hottest of brews or the coldest of cocktails and is easy to care for; simply wipe it clean with a cloth.

Coasters are made from a combination of 90% hardboard with 10% sawmill wood fibre waste making them very sturdy and robust. Finished with a stunning glossy coating, slightly bevelled edges and rounded corners, these coasters are easy care; simply wipe them clean with a damp cloth to keep them looking brand new! Recyclable. Coasters are sold individually (unless specified as part of a collection) and are boxed in a plain brown postal box for shipping. Coasters are not gift boxed unless this option has been selected.
